Fire Sign Replacement Request Form
The Elburn & Countryside Fire Protection District is pleased to announce that we are currently in the process of replacing all of the faded and hard to read fire signs within our service area. Fire crews went through the entire district and graded signs individually from best to worst condition. Although someone on your street received a new sign, yours may have not been graded the same resulting in yours not being replaced yet.
That being said, we understand that weather and the sun can deteriorate your sign making it non-readable. This “Request Page” is used by residents to request a sign replacement for signs that are missing or in non-readable condition. This is simply a “request”, not an “order”. The Fire District may contact you or go out and determine if we would have difficulty viewing your address sign. If it is confirmed as “not readable” , then your “request” would be escalated to an “order”. This would be at no cost to the homeowner.
The district orders fire signs multiple times throughout the year with manufacturing times averaging 6-8 weeks. The district also utilizes on-duty crews to deliver and install your sign.
If your sign is still readable but you want a new sign for aesthetic reasons, one can be ordered by using the “make a payment” feature on the websites homepage. In the “description box” put your name, address, email and phone number. The cost of a new Fire Sign is $75 and subject to change based on manufacturer costs. If you elect to do this option, the manufacturing times will remain 6-8 weeks. Once your sign arrives you will be able to come pick it up. Fire crews will check the installation of your sign one week after picking it up.
If you own a newly built home without a sign OR your sign goes missing/gets destroyed, you can still use this form just describe the circumstances in the “reason for replacement” box.
Also, we could use your help if you have an obstructed sign, please keep the sign clear of any obstructions (vegetation, decorations, etc...) so we may find you quickly in an emergency.
To request a residential fire sign, please complete the online form.
