The Elburn & Countryside Fire Protection District (ECFPD) creates an eligibility list for original appointment of full-time Firefighter/Paramedic through an extensive testing process that follows the ECFPD Fire Commission Rules and state statue,(70 ILCS 705/16.06). The testing establishes an eligibility list that is good for two (2) years.

The ECFPD Application must be submitted through National Testing Network (NTN) by January 3rd, 2025

All testing must be completed by January 3rd, 2025.
Candidates must have FireTEAM testing and submit all documentation as required at the time of the closing date.
At the time of application, applicants must meet the following criteria; certified as a State of Illinois Basic Operations Firefighter AND an IL State Certified Paramedic OR currently a certified State of Illinois Basic Operations Firefighter, and EMT-B who is currently a student in good standing in an ECFPD-recognized Paramedic training program OR candidate must be an IDPH-certified Paramedic and a current student in good standing in an ECFPD-recognized Illinois Basic Operations Firefighter program.[Illinois State Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) certification required upon conditional offer of employment].

The current list of eligible candidates for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic expires as 7:00 am on March 20, 2025 or after which all names have been stricken from the list.
